Intro Blacksmithing Class - Spring 2023

This day-long beginner blacksmithing class will introduce participants to using tools effectively and the basics of forging metal. We will cover a variety of introductory blacksmithing techniques, including: tapering, shouldering, spreading, bending, curling, burnishing, upsetting, riveting, and hot cutting. Two person capacity per class allows for lots of hands on learning and instruction.

We will decide as a class what objects we want to focus on making and leave the day with a variety of handmade goods to take home. The value of those goods will always exceed the cost of the class! All tools, safety gear, and materials will be provided. Long pants and close-toed shoes are required.

Classes located at Skyline Farm in North Yarmouth, Maine. Class runs from 9am to 4pm with 30 minutes for lunch. Max 2 person capacity per class, cost is per person. Reach out to book a larger class.
